I have my emails forwarded to the email account I use on my iPhone. Everything comes across fine, except calendar invitations. These come across with an attached "mime-attachment.ics" file...I just want to open it so I can see the time being proposed... don't need it to update my calendar. Can't find an app that will open an .ics file... any suggestions?

Folks,
ReplyDeleteI believe we all have seen those annoying ‘mime’ calendar messages in our iPhone e-mail that tell us next to nothing about the appointment they relate too.
Well, Apple still has to address this, but there is a fairly helpful WORK AROUND for those of you who would LIKE to know what the meeting is about, and its date, and time.
Whenever you get an e-mail message that has one of the ‘mime-attachment.ics’ attachments in it, you can forward it to:
beta@icsparse.appspotmail.com.
This Internet host will parse the forwarded message and send it back to you with all of its detail. It’s not the tidiest of solutions, but it is effective.
I suggest you create a contact entry called ‘mime’ with this e-mail address. In the future, you can just select ‘mime’ and forward the message off to it to get it parsed and readable.
Give it a try, it does the job. For full information please visit: http://icsparse.appspot.com/
