My inbox screen on my homepage is showing that I have a new message but there are no emails in my box. I've synced my phone several times to see if that would make it disappear, but it doesn't. I've also reset my network settings and that didn't fix it. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

synchronise using a different method, however this is a one way synchronise which means the information will be sent to intelligent phone and when you have new information only add it to microsoft outlook, also you will have to do the following each time you update a contact in outlook, another problem is that the contact picture will not be synchronised onto the intelligent phone, go to start

Receiving Mail when in Contacts Edit or ...

I have updated to OS 3 on the iPhone3G. I have noticed that with Wi-Fi turned off and you are on the Phone network, when selecting a contact to Edit or to Add a new contact, the phone automatically starts looking for mail and downloads it if you have mail. Very frustrating if you are on an expensive data account option with your phone carrier. "Data Roaming" is selected Off and "Fetch New Data" "Push" is also selected Off. The only safe guard is to select all "Mail Accounts" to Off before editing contacts. Yes it sounds absurd as there connection between the two, but it happens. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a work around?

Calendar Invite Attendee without ...

I moved from Blackberry to iPhone 3GS last week. I don't use an Exchange Server, but run Outlook on my Dell desktop. All synching has been completed. Question: Is there anyway to invite an attendee from the Calendar functon of the iPhone when NOT using an Exchange Server environment? That is such a basic function I can't believe Apple doesn't provide for this rudimentary capability.

Hi,

How do i accept an iCal event sent to me via email onto my iPhone. When i try to tap on it nothing happens? Help says i can 'tap on it' if i have Microsoft Exchange but surely i can also do that if it is sent straight from iCal, yes? I don't have MobileMe and i don't run Microsoft Exchange - i'm Mac at home/work/iphone.
Do i need to get an app to do this? How come Microsoft users ( boo hiss!) can have this functionality?

Missing Calendar events ...

After upgrading my iPhone 3G to 3.0, I found a number of duplicated events on my phone. So I deleted one of each event. After that, I discovered that those events disappeared from iCal on my Mac. I have tried syncing my phone several times, turning on the various calendars one at a time or syncing all, but cannot get those events to appear on my Mac. They still show on my phone and they also show on my calendar in MobileMe. So how do I get them to re-appear in iCal???

I've been using Palm products for the last 10 years and plan to finally leave the sinking ship and going to an iPhone.

As some of you know, Palm has a wonderful desktop application that allows me to sync with my handheld easily and quickly.

Question: What do you think is the best tool to sync with my new iPhone to my desktop WITHOUT having to buy MobileMe? For reference, I have a MacBook running on 10.4.11.

Question about syncing and gmail ...

Hi, my understanding is that a sync between address book and gmail contacts happens when this function is enabled and when you are also syncing your iphone.

However, I only sync a particular group of contacts with my iphone, but I want to sync ALL my contacts with gmail contacts. Is this possible? If so, how?

DESPERATE: How to transfer my Treo ...

Hello, so I finally bit the bullet and made the switch from my beloved Palm environment to the iPhone. Been on the Palm since they first came out. Yes, PalmDesktop (on 4.2.2. for the Mac) is awful and ugly and out of date, but it's where all my data is. (Trust, am upgrading my Mac when I can, just not the year for that expense too, sadly.)

And I am now up that migration creek of **** I thought I would be.

I have over 3,000 contacts in my Treo, with 300 memos, and a huge calendar dating back to Feb 2000 (no joke). It's like a life diary to me, I want to import it all. My work IS my contact list, so I need to import all 3,000 of them, with all their notes, categories, etc. into my new 3GS.

I am not sure how to do this. Desperately need some hand holding on this import.

Am on a Mac so I don't have Outlook.

Do I have to get everything into iCal and Address Book? How? Has anyone done this and preserved categories?

Do I shell out for Missing Sync and start there? (Anyone used this method?)

My friend and I tried iSync a long time ago and it doesn't preserve the categories, etc. so that isn't an optimal solution.

Am reading a bit online about people transferring from Palm into Google, and then the iPhone? That's a whole other ballgame. Thoughts? How to?

I am so lost. Been online for three hours and have no idea which way to turn.

Here's the desperate part: am leaving for Europe Saturday am, and need to make sure my contacts are in my phone, otherwise I have to drag the Treo along too so I have my data! Ridiculous.

Has anyone done this transfer?

"Ghost" Draft messages on iPhone! ...

Hello, I wonder if anyone can help with this....The Genius's at the Apple Store yesterday were baffled and couldn't resolve it. On two of my mail account on the iPhone, ( both are .mac / Mobile Me account addresses ) I have one "Draft" message indicated as being present, but on opening the "Draft" folder in each account there's nothing there, and the "Edit" button is grey'd out so even if something did show up I couldn't erase it. So I can't clear these two "ghost" drafts from the iPhone. I checked with Mobile Me on the web and neither of the two accounts have any Draft messages in their folders, and neither do any of the Mail accounts on my three Mac's that are all sync'd together via Mobile Me........Any ideas?, Thanks!

I don't understand. My biggest gripe about iPhone was that when my client emailed me meeting invites, I couldn't view them.

Now i get a lovely little calendar icon instead of a blank box, but I still can't click on it!

I have 3.0 beta on my iPhone 3G and am attempting to e-mail calendar appointments from my work system to my iPhone to add to my calendar. I can do this with the 'send a calendar via e-mail' option in Outlook 2007, which tags an .ics file to the e-mail. (The security requirements at my employer do not allow Exchange Server syncing for iPhone as yet, so I have to manually add contacts individually http://e-mailed .vcs files, which worked fine but was a hassle and now calendar appointments http://e-mailed .ics files. I won't be able to get my work mail until my employer is satisfied with Apples security protocols for our exchange server-hopefully in the next few months or so.) Anyway, my iPhone doesn't seem to want to do anything with the .ics file when I attempt to open it. Unlike the previous OS, the .ics file is able to be opened, not grayed out, and appears to want to do something with it. iPhone 3.0 is supposed to be able to read and handle these. Exchange mail sync with 3.1 ...

iPhone 3G. Not getting the specific error that I see others are. However, since the 3.1 update, the mail updating from my Exchange account is taking significantly longer. The little icon just spins and spins and spins.

I've restarted the iPhone. I've removed and re-added the Exchange account. Both with no luck.

Anyone else? Any ideas?

For some reason, I cannot view the email IDs configured on my phone, or the emails in those IDs. All i can see is the last email sent to me, with the From and to fields and text of the email. There are no back, reply, delete etc button, and I cant just swipe it away either. Any suggestions?

iPhone POP3 protocol error ...

I'm an admin on a mail server running MailEnable. Most of my clients run MS Windows PC's with Outlook (various versions) using POP3. Many use various PDA type devices to access email via POP3 as well. I have 2 iPhone users whose phones fail to log out on the POP3 transaction, tying up the mailbox and locking out their Outlook. The server won't allow Outlook to access the mailbox because the iPhone hasn't logged out after it's transaction.

When will this error be fixed on the iPhone POP3 implementation? How do users get the fix?

I travel all over the world and almost always put appointments first into my iPhone, since I rarely am at home. The iCal on my iPhone is therefore my principle diary and that on my Mac Pro effectively the backup. When syncing with iTunes (I think) the time of the entry I originally made is changed during the sync by the difference in time between the time zone I was in when I entered the appointment, and my home time. This makes my diary useless, and some of the changes I have made to repeat items have completely scrambled themselves.
When I put an appointment in my calendar for 11.30am that is what I want. I do not want my phone, or home computer, changing it to 12.30 because I was in Germany when I actually got the email organising the meeting and recorder the appointment in my diary.
To be honest I would have thought this would be the default, since I do not know anybody who would intuitively think that keying in appointment times offset by the difference in time between their current zone and where they will be in the future.
Perhaps the programmer does not travel much.
I have seen a "floating" time zone choice in the support pages, but can not find how to set it on my iPhone. I have updated to v3 iPhone, my Mac Pro is 10.5.7
Anybody knows how to relieve this frustration?

Upgraded both iTunes and iPhone when prompted that upgrades were available. Now the sync process hangs on either contacts or calendars when synching. Have left running for over an hour, thinking that first-time sync after upgrade may be more time-consuptive, but without results. Using with Outlook 2007. For some reason I can't send, reply or forward email from my iPhone. It was working yesterday. It is synching fine and I can receive and read email but I can't reply, forward or send from the iPhone. I am using mobileme and my standard comcast email account. I am thinking that maybe I messed something up in mobileme? Or perhaps the kids changed a setting on the iPhone? iCal is not syncing with Google ...

I have set up my iCal to sync with Google as per Google instructions. I have a new calendar that appeared in my iCal that is my Google e-mail address as a result of this sync. I have added weather and holidays calendars under delegate. Those appeared in my iCal right away.
Yet, on Google calendar NONE of my iCal events appear. The google calendar is completely blank!
Am I missing an important step or something else?
I have about five calendars in iCal and none of them appear in Google Calendar.

Contacts recently added to iPhone ...

Okay, this has happened a few times now and it's a huge pain in the arse.

After adding contacts directly to Address Book in my iPhone 3G and then syncing with my MacBook Pro, these recently added contacts are then deleted when syncing is complete. I can go back and add names into my iPhone for those numbers that I have had an SMS convo with, as it's not too hard to remember who I had a conversation with. However, for numbers that I added and did not text with it's obviously hard to remember the different numbers I added to my contacts.

The "Sync with Address Book" setting in my iTunes is turned on (box has check mark) so I have no idea why this is happening. However, contacts added to address book on my MBP do, the last time I checked when this problem ocurred, successfully transfer to my iPhone's address book.

I was once recommended to reset sync "history", (I believe was the term), in iSync on my computer and this seemed to work once but during the second most-recent occurrence of this problem this didn't seem to do the trick. I simply don't understand why this is happening when "Sync with Address Book" is clearly turned on in iTunes.

This is turning into a huge inconvenience when adding different and very important contact information into my phone. I suppose I could turn the setting to sync contacts off, but this would defeat one of my main reasons, like everyone else's, of purchasing an iPhone in the first place - the ease of backing up all important information in iTunes.

Any help with this matter would be highly appreciated. This recurring problem needs to stop immediately.

I run iTunes 9 on 64-bit Vista, and I want to back up the contacts from an iPhone so I can restore the iPhone and not lose all the contact information. I thought I'd sync the contacts to Windows Contacts, but in iTunes when I check the box to sync contacts, nothing appears in the drop-down list to the right. When I click the list nothing pops up at all, not even an empty list--the list control just doesn't respond to the click event.

I don't have Outlook on this machine, but Windows Contacts is built into Vista. Does anyone know what I might have to do to get Windows Contacts to appear as a sync option in iTunes?

double set of contacts ...

I have 2 sets of contacts on my iphone 3gs. On the "groups" page it shows ALL CONTACTS which lists everything twice, then ON MY iPHONE which has one set, then my mac account which shows a duplicate list.

Problem being that not all the details get matched on each list. Would be nice to have one list on my phone - same as the contact list on my laptop and have them sync to each other - no matter how I update or change them.

iPhone runs really slowly when ...

Hey all,

My iPhone seems to run really slow whenever I subscribe to my Google Calendars (2 of them) on the phone. The entire phone just moves really slowly. I used to use the Exchange way of syncing the calendars, but I'm using exchange for work right now so that is not an option.

Does anyone have any ideas/thoughts on how to fix this? Or is anyone else experiencing similar problems?

Calendar subscriptions synced via MM can no longer be turned off on the iPhone, as far as I can tell. Unless anyone can figure out a workaround. Anyone? Got any ideas?

Otherwise...

All those calendars of your friends, events, etc. that you subscribe to on your Mac...if you use MobileMe for syncing, they are now going to be cluttering up your iPhone calendar, and apparently there is no way to get rid of them (unless you set them all up manually via CalDAV. This is a change that apparently occurred with 3.1.

I've noticed this happening over the past week or so... Anytime I initiate a new email thread from my Gmail account on my iPhone, the recipient isn't getting it. If I go into Gmail via the web I'll see the email in my Sent Items, but it never arrives. In one instance, I got a bounceback message from the recipient's server, but in the others I haven't gotten anything back. This has happened to at least 5 different email addresses, all with different providers, that I've tried to send to, and needless to say I am sure that all of these addresses are indeed valid recipients.

iPhone crashes dialing or receiving a ...

This problem i've had for a while.
Basically when i receive or make a call to a specific number ie (0191420****) my iPhone becomes unresponsive with the green incall bar across the top when i make the call and a complete crash when receiving it, although it logs the call as a missed call when the iPhone is restarted. I cant end the call until i restart the phone.
Originally the number was a business contact in my address book contacts, then, when i started getting the problem, I deleted the contact thinking it was corrupt. It didn't make any difference.
All my contacts are synced over mobileme and this contact was deleted over all my devices, powerbook, iPhone and iMac.
But still when i dial or receive this number and only this number the phone locks up straight away.
It started on my iPhone 3G then when i synced my new iPhone 3GS the problems continued even over a complete restore.
I'm thinking its something to do with the contacts list file but don't know how to correct it with out deleting all my contacts which isn't an option.
I've searched all the forums but nothing is mentioned about this specific issue.

Over-the-air sync of Yahoo Business ...

After having my own iPhone for a year and enjoying the "over-the-air" sync of my email/calendar/contact via Exchange, I just bought my wife an iPhone to use with her small business.

I'm trialing MobileMe, which made it a snap to sync her calendar and contact from Outlook 2003 on her laptop. The last "to-do" is to figure out how I can synch her Yahoo Business email with her iPhone for "over the air" updates.

She uses a Yahoo Bizmail pop3 account, and she has her own domain (@ayavastaffing.com). The pop and smtp servers are pop.bizmail.yahoo.com and smpt.bizmail.yahoo.com. The tricky part here is that she uses Outlook 2003 extensively for email, contacts, calendar. Changing that is not an option.

So from what I have read, it looks like she needs an IMAP email account (i.e. MobileMe) to enable "over-the-air" sync of email between her iPhone and PC Outlook client.

Right now I have email send/receive working on the iPhone, but not the synch part. Anyone know if this is possible with our current Yahoo Business email? Looks like Yahoo has enabled push to iPhone, but is that the same as "over-the-air" sync?

I was looking for a suggestion box.... I recently switched from a blackberry to an iphone and I'm lovin' it. However, I was disappointed to see that some of the very basic features of Email and Calendar are not available on the most developed iphone software, 3GS.

Email
Mark all as read, or mark previous as read.
All in one Inbox, we should have the option to view all in one, or separate inboxes.

Calendar
set a default reminder, so it's one less step every time we set up a meeting or task. we can always change it if necessary.

what do you guys think?

I have my emails forwarded to the email account I use on my iPhone. Everything comes across fine, except calendar invitations. These come across with an attached "mime-attachment.ics" file...I just want to open it so I can see the time being proposed... don't need it to update my calendar. Can't find an app that will open an .ics file... any suggestions?

Auto bcc to myself ...

Mail settings on the iPhone (2.0) allow for automatically sending a blind copy (bcc) of sent emails to myself. The problem is that the email address used for the bcc is the one indicated in my email account definition. There is no way to enter a different email address for that function as there is just an ON/OFF selection for the bcc function. However many spammers are spoofing one's own email address in the FROM field of their spam, therefore emails from me to me are automatically stopped by our anti-spam software. Can't Apple allow for the entry of a different email address to be used for these auto-bcc? This would solve that problem.

Is it possible to have three email accounts feed into one inbox on the iPhone? I'd like to not have to go through to each inbox when I get a new message to see what it is and who it came from.
In Mail on my Mac, I can just click "Inbox" to view this or I can click one one of the sub-mailboxes to view an account individually. Is there a way to do the same thing on the iPhone?
Maybe there's an app that I can use to do this?

This is the strangest thing... I registered my iphone 3G with my new computer and after syncing with itunes, I checked my outlook calendar to make sure all was OK only to realize that all my appointments where there, but all of them are scheduled 5 hours earlier in outlook cmopared with the iphone... I've tried all the trouble shooting without any success... Has this happen to someone else? Some insight will be greatly appreciated.

Help. I didn't see that the box "do not snyc messages over 30 days old" was checked when I synced my calendar. (I would have had to scroll down to see that box.) That single click has deleted from my iphone 9 months of calendar entries I did when hospitalized. It contained key dates for insurance, important doctor notes, etc.

So, is there any way to recover calendar info from previous sync back-ups? I had previously synced my photo only a few days before. I had also used an app to pull out all my text messages into a cvs file. Can I retrieve the calendar info too? Please help!!!

Downloading from Gmail to both iPhone ...

Just got my wife an iPhone and have a problem getting emails from her Gmail account to go to both the iPhone and Outlook 2003 running on her Dell.

Here is the hierarchy of "grabs" off the Gmail server:

iPhone ON, Outlook OFF - email goes to iPhone, then to Outlook when Outlook is turned on.

iPhone ON, Outlook ON - email goes to Outlook only, never makes it to iPhone.

Settings - on Outlook, POP, leave copy on server; on Gmail, POP and IMAP both activated, leave copy on server. iPhone tried using both POP and IMAP to retrieve Gmail mesages.

Striking out after looking at all the info I have found on iPhone and on Gmail forums. The current low tech solution is to turn off Outlook when we want messages to be received on the iPhone.

Would appreciate any suggestions.

Sync issue with iCal - duplicates ...

Hello

since i upgraded my macbook to Leopard and upgraded the iPhone to 3.01 i have had a problem with synching.

The issue is that when they sync, they dont skip duplicate entires, so it doubles up the entry. If i was to then sync again it would double up the entires again.

Any help would be great as i have deleted all the entries a few time only for them to reappear.

Im sure its only a ignore duplicate entries button, but i cant see it

I have my work Email "Groupwise" forwarded to my iPhone. Was working fine until the 3.1 upgrade, now the body of my emails read "Mime Attachment" and I'm unable to open. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix?

The problem just started today.......tried to delete e mails and they keep coming back....now the e-mail just crashes after I open and try to delete individually or try to edit and delete a bunch of them.......very frustrating....tried to power off and restart but same problem....any help would be appreciated..

Duplicate e-Mail Since Upgraded to 3.0 ...

I am receiving duplicate e-mails on my iPhone since the upgrade to 3.0 when retrieving over the air or from wi-fi. I have an original iPhone (2G) with 16g. I have 3 e-mail accounts, 2 are from gmail (both giving me duplicates) and 1 from ATT (no duplicates). The e-mail service with gmail on my MacBook are using IMAP, whereas the ATT mail is POP. e-Mail on my MacBook is just fine, as it is if I retrieve via the net from gmail. Only duplicates appear on my iPhone.

If I delete just one of the e-mails, it actually deletes both. So I have to choose to keep both, or both get deleted.

Any solutions out there to this, or is Apple addressing??

Contacts Alphabetic Tab - Not working ...

Hi,

I have a 3G running 3.0 the alphabetic tabs on the ride side of the Contacts window only work thru the letter E the rest don't respond at all. I tried a hard reboot and a software reinstall.

Problems Receiving and Sending Outlook ...

Recently I have had issues receiving mail from my outlook account. For no reason I will stop receiving mail and usually the only way to fix the issue is to reboot the phone but I have been having to do this every few hours. Occasionally I will not receive a new email alert but once I click on the mail icon it will suddenly connect and retrieve all of my email. Also when I reply to emails the phone will freeze and will take several minutes before I am able to type a reply. Once I press send it freezes again and takes several minutes to send. Most of my emails are simple text and small in size.
Could someone please help!?!

I would like to have the following services synced to my iPhone 3G:

Mail: Both my personal gmail and work
Contacts: google
Calendar: google

I can get all my google services synced via the google, but since it uses exchange I can't then get my work email. If I use my work exchange, and set up gmail the regular way, can I still two-way sync my google contacts and google calendar?

Syncing problems since upgrading to ...

Ever since I performed the 10.5.7 upgrade with all the associated software updates I have been receiving a constant error message popping up whenever I plug in my iPhone:

"The application AppleMobileDeviceHelper quit unexpectedly."

It pops up constantly as long as my iPhone is plugged in and iTunes is open.

I've also noticed that my calendar information is not syncing bi-directionally anymore, and have been having terrible problems with iTunes crashing whenever I try to perform a sync.

Any ideas?

This is due to my company working Saturday to Friday so it's no help being able to change to Sunday using International settings

Inviting contacts to Calendar ...

Hello,
Is there a way to invite contacts to meeting requests? I have a yahoo account (don't know if that makes a difference). I would like to set up meetings through my calendar on my Iphone and I want to be able to invite people to the meetings from my Iphone through the calendar application. I know this was possible on blackberry. As well, when I get meeting requests (.ics) they don't come through properly. How do I set up my calendar to send and receive meeting requests? Is there an application I need to purchase to do this?

I recently setup a new iCal Server 2 system using snow leopard server. I created a main calendar for a group of us and added users as delegates. When i use my account to subscribe to the the caldav server on iphone i see my calendars, but there is no option to view the calendars i have access to. Does anyone else know if there is a fix for this?

Reply and Forward symbols don't show ...

I have 2 accounts on my computer and iPhone, Gmail and Exchange. When I reply or forward on the computer it doesn't show the symbol on the phone and vice versa for the Exchange account BUT it does for the Gmail account.

Is there something in my settings on phone or comp that is wrong with my Exchange account??

Mail with 3.1 - Seems buggy ...

Since updating to 3.1 I get some weird mail behavior. I have a single gmail account on my iPhone and I'll get a new message chime. When I unlock the phone it shows no new message on the mail icon but when I open Mail.app it will display a message on the bottom of the screen saying something along the lines that additional messages have not yet been downloaded. Once I tap that it downloads the new message.

Anyone else getting this and found a fix? I was thinking of trying a restore when I get home today.

If I create a new contact from a new number of a received call or from a new address of a received email, then it is possible to get this contact only through Search.
They don't appear in Contacts.
And of course these contacts are not syncronized by mobileme.

iPhone email keyboard missing comma key ...

I have just upgraded to iPhone 3G S, and iPhone 3.1 -- now when I go to type an email, the comma key is missing from the keyboard. It is missing on all my email accounts as well, although the comma key is there on the iPhone Search keyboard.

This impacts adding email addresses in the TO field when I am typing several addresses that are not in my contact file, there is no way to separate them since there is no comma.

Any help appreciated.

I realize I am not the only one with this issue, but a friend of mine pointed it out to me and then I tried it and it's happening to me, too. Subscribed calendars were not showing up on my iPhone via MobileMe before 3.1, but now are. How do we delete them from the iPhone, but not iCal?

MY deleted emails come back too! Please ...

OK.. This is driving me nuts now. Not happened for a while but today - I have tried to delete the same 27 emails NINE times now and they KEEP FRIGGIN COMING BACK!!!! Grrr

Always been a huge huge fan of apple - til I got the iPhone! Only had it 3 months and would switch back to my blackberry in a heartbeat!

I delete some - or all - or one - then the others - and they keep coming back. Restarted... not restarted... Driving me mad.

Some html emails are displayed correctly but very small when I open them for about 1 second and then it switches to a larger view but the right half of the email is missing. Anyone else seen this?

Mobile Me sync changes time by 4 hours ...

Every time I sync my iPhone with Mobile me it changes some of my appt times by exactly 4 hours. I tried turning time zone support off and clearing all the calendar info off of my iPhone, but the weekend entries seem to come in again 4 hours off.
Anybody have any ideas ??

I don't know what is going on, but since I got my new iphone and upgraded to the new version of mobile me, I have lost all my contacts. They are not on mobile me, or my address book. I had them on my iphone -- but with one sync, those all disappeared. Is this happening to anyone else? I am beyond frustrated. Can anyone offer any help? Much appreciated

Missing Contact Photos ...

Hi.

Just got iPhone 3GS, having moved from WinMo, and I'm sadly disappointed on a number of issues.

At the moment the one that's really stumping me is this one, and I've tested it four different times, and four different times it's done the same thing, but seemingly at random.

I have some photos in the iPhone which I took of people who are in my contact book.

I sync the iPhone with Exchange (or rather, KerioMailServer) which in turn syncs also with Outlook on my PC.

I can use the iPhone Photo App to create thumbnails for contact photos, and assign them to my contacts. The photos will display for a while. They'll even apparently sync with Kerio, because the photos are now also attatched to my contact records in Outlook too, having been transferred ONLY by the Exchange Sync.

But then, for no apparent reason, without any visible trigger, the contact photos will disappear from the iPhone.

The master photos are still on the phone, as are the contacts, and the contacts are still on Outlook which is still syncing to Kerio.

But on the iPhone, the photos are gone, and I have to reassign them/recrop them to get them to attatch, at which point a second (then third, then fourth) contact photo syncs with Kerio, and then turns up on Outlook, and then at random the iPhone drops the photos again, and never seems to reacquire them from the Kerio server.

Any ideas?

Someone emails me. Their display name contains unicode characters (accents, umlauts, etc). Their email address does NOT contain unicode characters.

When replying, the client splits their display name in two... LastName, First Name (separately, not one "bubble").

Trying to send you get:

Invalid Address
"LastName" does not appear to be a valid email address. Do you want to send it anyway?

Anyone else have this problem.

Again, only occurs when people have unicode characters in their display name.

Subscribed calendars push ...

Hi everyone,

Following subscribed calendars moving to mobile me in the 3.1 update I'm having problems.

First off I removed the subscribed calendars from my iPhone (accounts) so to remove the duplicates.

I have around 8 subscribed calendars but the main ones causing issues are my wifes 'home' and 'work' calendars which change/update regularly. When she creates an appointment it gets pushed to ical on my mac, but isn't being pushed to my iphone, which is where I want to see the appointment 70% of the time.

This is also happening vice versa for her iPhone and my appointments.

Any advice greatly received!!!

Recommendation Request - Calendar Sync ...

I am a independent project manager consultant with 2 long term contracts and clients. I have an Outlook account at each client site. I need to sync both calendars (and email) with my iPhone as well as my personal gmail account.
I know it easy with one Outlook account, but not sure what to do with 2 accounts.
I need company accounts to access other employees calendars to schedule meeting.

PROBLEM: Syncing iPhone with Outlook ...

I was hoping this would be as easy as it was with my Nokia, but alas it is not. I am trying to sync my Outlook Contacts to the iPhone. Unfortunately, my initial attempt went quite poorly. All of my Outlook Data for phone numbers was deleted. Luckily all the data is still in the iPhone. Unfortunately, if I type the info into Outlook and sync, then I get duplicate Mobile, Home, and Work telephone numbers on the iPhone. So right now my choices are either duplicate numbers for all contacts in the iPhone and information in Outlook OR single information on the iPhone and nothing in Outlook. Quite frustrating. Any help appreciated.

Getting "Server rejects one of the ...

Strange enough my iPhone sometimes "refuses" to deliver email (even when I reply) to any address displaying the above message.
It happens on multiple POP accounts, I erased and recreated them, I reset the phone and no explanation.
Sometimes it does send the emails, and sometimes no (both via WiFi or the cell network).
Anybody ?
