iPhone 3G Mail quits unexpectedly and ...

Hi All,

My Mail app on the iPhone 3G has recently started quitting within a few seconds of opening the application. In those few seconds while it's running, if I delete any emails, those emails will appear again the next time Mail is launched.

I've tried using both POP and IMAP accounts. I've tried deleting mail accounts then putting them back on, I've restored the iPhone, but to no avail. With IMAP accounts (I'm using MobileMe), it's even worse because let's say I retrieve an email on my iMac and delete it. Then when I open Mail on the iPhone, it will enter an endless loop of downloading that same email and deleting it, so my email alerts just keep binging continuously. I've turned Push on, turned it off. Still keeps crashing.

I initially thought it was a dodgy email that was causing the crashes, or perhaps regularly exceeding the max number of emails limit set on the phone, however I assume a clean restore should've resolved this.

I've had the phone for almost a year so it's still under warranty but it seems like a software issue that should be resolvable. Anybody have any suggestions?
